WE WAIT ALL YEAR FOR FALL AND WINTER IN THE OBX......
With the passing of the long summer days, beaches filled with visitors and busy traffic jams come the clear blue sky and more relaxed pace of Fall in the Outer Banks.
Fishing becomes really good once again after things get a bit slow in July and August.
This is a terrific time to come fishing in the surf with fishing being non stop action from the puppy Drum in September, big Red Drum in October, Speckled Trout in October and November and Rockfish from December through February. This is the time to get that 4x4 out on the north beaches or for that matter, any beach that doesn't close because a bird is laying an egg, stopping for a moment to catch its breath or giving consideration to nesting for a few weeks.
The bottom line is that Fall and Winter are terrific times to come surf fishing in the OBX. If you dont have the know-how, give us a call and we'll put together private instruction for you, your family or group. We can't guartanty fish but we can guaranty that you will learn how to surf fish and you will have a memorable experience.
If you have a boat, King Mackeral are all around in September and provide exciting action. Offshore we have been experienceing one of the best Marlin years in memory and the Sailfish bite has been extraordinary in 2009. If its Tuna you're after, Fall and Winter promise to be very productive given what we've seen thus far.

OBFS Now Offering Kayak Fishing Trips
On March 14, 2009 Capt. Mark Peters, Ric Burnley and OBFS Guides Capt. Jason Peters and Pete Erickson presentrd "Kayak Fishing-OBX Style" at Captain Marty's annual Fishing school. Kitty Hawk Sports, our Ocean Kayak Brand kayak supplier, was also there with displays of fishing kayaks. Capt. Jason Peters completed the four day ACA Kayak Instructor certification so he's stoked to teach and to take novice and experienced anglers on some great OBX
yak fishing trips. This year we're offering "Camp N' Fish" overnight trips, Tarpon and Drum trips and mothership boat assisted trips for advanced kayak anglers. Dont forget about our half day Trout/Drum/Flounder sound trips from April through October.
