BIG NEWS..BIG BLUEFIN TUNAS...DRUM IN THE SURF, SPECS ON THE WAY AND COBIA AROUND THE CORNER
With the melting of the record snowfalls up north, comes the warm wash of sunny days, blue skies and warming water temps in the Outer Banks. The big news this March was the return of big bad Bluefin Tunas in  huge numbers and serious "biggie sizes". Last year they showed up in the 90-125# class and this year during the month of March and early April, they went from a 150# being big to most being boated in the 200# class with a few collosal 300,400 and even 500 plus sizes.

Just as the Bluefin action tapers off the Yellowfins are showing up in impressive numbers. In addition, 40" to 50" Red Drum are making their presence known in the surf at Buxton. This action should continue throughout April.

As April draws to a close, the sounds should be ripe for the pickin' for nice Speckled Trout, schoolie Rockfish, Flounder and puppy Drum.As Spring draws to a close and summer is ushered in, by late May we should see the nearshore, outside the Oregon Inlet, teeming with the green monsters..Cobia....
and fierce Amberjack on the towers and wrecks.Dont grow roots in that lazyboy..get on down here and book one of our instructors to teach you how its done...species by species.....Spring is hot!
